Community Development involves assisting the community to recognise their assets both at an individual and group level and helping to mobilise them for development purposes. Through capacity-focused development (rather than focussing on problems), the Youth and Community Development Officer’s role is to liaise with community members and community organisations building relationships between them so that they can work together more effectively for the benefit of the community as a whole.
