New Recreation Activities
Beginning in April
Yoga Classes
Instructor: Liza Dawson
Day: Thursday April 2 and April 9
Time: 9.30am for 1.5 hours
Venue: Recreation Centre
Cost: $7
What to bring: blanket, bed size pillow, water, loose cool comfortable clothing
If possible: yoga mat, eye pillow, soft material strap/belt
These two dates will be run as “Have a go” sessions to see if you enjoy them. After the school holidays an 8 week program will begin (30/4/09 – 18/6/09). This will be a pay in advance program of $40. Please RSVP with Liza on 97562022.
Social Sports – Tennis/Volleyball

Day: Mondays beginning 13th of April
Time: 9.30am for 1.5 hours
Venue: Recreation Centre
Cost: $5 or buy 10 sessions for $30 (can be used for any social sports session throughout the year)
What to bring: Tennis racquet, hat, sunscreen and water.
Social tennis and volleyball will be offered on Monday mornings, tennis when the weather is fine and indoor volleyball if it is wet outside. Social sports will continue to be offered throughout the year with sports changing every term – an indoor and an outdoor option will be included to cover all weather options. Kids welcome. – supervised mini activities will be set up to keep them occupied.
Running Group – Run a marathon (42kms) in 6 weeks!

Start point: Nannup Police Station

What to bring: yourself, water

A moderate level of fitness is required… Over 6 weeks you’ll build up the distance from 1km in the first session to 6kms by the last (12th run) session. In total, over the 12 runs you will run the marathon distance of 42kms. Running in a group provides support and motivation, perfect for building up the fitness levels of your average procrastinator!!

Gentle Gym

Time: 9.30am
Venue: Town Hall
Cost: $3
These classes are suitable for the over-50s, but anyone is welcome. The exercises focus on stretching, flexibility and relaxation.
GKR Karate

Time: 4.30 – 6pm and 5 – 6.30pm
Venue: Recreation Centre
Karate develops confidence, coordination, self-discipline and fitness. New members always welcome.
Jalbarragup Yoga Class

Time: 10.00am for 1.5 hours
Venue: Lot 6 King Rd, off Stacey Rd, Jalbarragup

What to bring: a mat if you have one or a towel
Chris has limited places for her Monday session. Please RSVP with her on 97561268. A Saturday class may be organised at the Ambulance Hall if there is demand.
