Forest Products Commission (FPC) will commence harvesting of pine trees from the 5 March 2024. The harvesting will impact the Trails at the Tank 7 lookout as well as the Tank to Tank trail. The harvesting operation is expected to take approximately six weeks. The area bound by Lindsay Road, Brockman Road and Brockman highway will be closed for the duration of the pine harvesting operation.

The $4 million Community Small Grants Fund (CSGF) supports community groups and businesses within Western Australia's native forest regions. The CSGF will be provided through two competitive grant rounds each delivering $2 million. Funding of up to $100,000 is available for sustainable projects that aim to create jobs, expand and diversify the local economy, and create liveable communities through services, infrastructure, tourism and events. The first funding round will open on 20 February and close on 21 April 2023.

The Shire of Nannup, through their journey towards reconciliation, are working with local First Nations people in creating the Wardandi-language song writing project. The project will tell the Wardandi stories through a modern sound and will be hosted in Nannup. Nannup is known as the “Stopping Place” in the local Noongar language.
