Prohibited Burning Period
The prohibited burning period commences on 20 December 2007. No burning is permitted during that period. The present weather conditions including below average rainfall has seen some of the driest conditions for many years.
Burning during the prohibited period is illegal and can attract a $250 fine.
Fire prevention work as detailed in the Shire of Nannup Firebreak Order is required to be completed by 1 December in the townsite and 15 December in rural areas. The work must be maintained throughout the summer months until the close of the restricted burning period on 31 May 2008. Firebreak inspections will be undertaken in December.
