The system of voting has been confirmed as “First Past the Post”. The election notice detailing candidates will be published in the September 2009 edition of the Nannup Telecentre Telegraph.
Nominations for Council closed at 4pm on Thursday 10 September 2009. The following were received:

David Boulter
Therefore Barbara Dunnet is elected unopposed to the South Ward for a period of 4 years.
Former Councillors Robin Mellema and Robert Taylor nominated for the North Ward which has two vacancies. Sitting Councillor David Boulter re nominated for the North Ward and Dr Bob Longmore is a new candidate.
In the Central Ward former Councillor Charles Gilbert nominated and Cheryle Brown is a new candidate. Cr Bird did not re nominate for the Central Ward.
The election date is Saturday 17 October 2009, with the election place being the Shirley Humble Room at the Nannup Shire Office. The election notice was placed on Wednesday 16 September 2009 and early votes can be cast from that day at the Nannup Shire Office. The method of voting is first past the post and the count will be held immediately after the close of polls at 6pm on Saturday 17 October 2009. Electoral officers are Shane Collie, Returning Officer and Craige Waddell Deputy Returning Officer.
