Council passed the following resolutions at its October 2007 meeting:

1.         That Council adopt the position that the Old Jalbarragup bridge should be demolished principally on the grounds of safety and that Heritage recognition be sought through an appropriately designed interpretation area in close proximity to the new bridge.

2.         That assistance from local heritage architect Mr Ian Molyneax be sought in designing an appropriate Heritage Interpretation site in close proximity to the current bridge location.

3.         That this information be forwarded to the Heritage Council of WA in order for Main Roads WA to commence work toward the procurement of a new bridge at the present site of the current old structure.

It is going to take some time to develop and agree upon an appropriate heritage recognition site and what it contains.  Input from members of the community is welcome throughout this process.  If there is any initial comments that anyone would like to make please feel free to contact Shane Collie at the Shire Office to discuss
