FIREBREAK ORDER
Fire prevention work as detailed in Council’s Firebreak Order (delivered with rate notices) is required to be completed by 1 December in the townsite and 15 December in rural areas. The work must be maintained throughout the summer months until the close of the restricted burning period on 31 May 2008.
Non compliance with the order may attract a fine of $250 with Firebreak inspections commencing in December.
RESTRICTED/PROHIBITED BURNING PERIOD
During the Restricted Burning period, a permit to burn is required to be obtained from your local Fire Control Officer prior to any burning being undertaken. During the Prohibited Burning period no burning is permitted.
