DRAFT NATURAL ENVIRONMENT STRATEGY

 

Council at its February 2008 meeting adopted for the purposes of advertising a draft Natural Environment Strategy.  The Shires of Bridgetown/Greenbushes and Manjimup have adopted similar strategies with the work being undertaken by a shared Environmental Officer.

 

The strategy seeks to positively address the sustainable management of natural resources and biodiversity issues in the district and introduces a new way of looking at Council’s decisions and everyday actions.  There are key action targets set in the Strategy which will provide direction and stipulate activities to be undertaken should the document be formally adopted by Council.

 

Comment on the draft is sought and copies can be obtained from the Shire Office or from Council’s website www.nannup.wa.gov.au.
