Changes to the Recycling Service
CHANGES TO THE RECYCLING SERVICE
Townsite
Townsite residents would be aware that the new recycling wheelie bins (yellow lids) have been delivered to all properties (households and commercial) with the first collection being undertaken on the 24th September 2008.
An information “calendar” was also provided that confirms the dates of collection up until the 30 June 2009. A collection is provided every 2 weeks. The lid on the wheelie bins details what can be placed into the recycling bins.
Non Townsite
Recycling wheelie bins have also been provided at the Nannup Waste Management Facility for non-townsite residents to deposit their co-mingled recyclables as follows:
- Glass bottles and jars
- Milk and juice containers
- Aluminium and steel cans
- All plastic containers
All cardboard and paper products however will continue to be processed and recycled in the in the shed (not the recycling bins) to reduce the amount of bulk entering the recycling bins. This arrangement will be trialled and reviewed in the future if necessary.
