Council’s Manager Development Services provides advice and guidance on safe asbestos handling and disposal methods in accordance with the Health (Asbestos) Regulations 1992. Asbestos cement can become hazardous when asbestos fibres are released into the atmosphere. It is therefore essential that asbestos cement materials be handled in a safe manner.

Restricted amounts of asbestos cement materials can be disposed of at the Shire of Nannup Waste Management Facility situated on Keene Road (off Mowen Road), Nannup. All asbestos materials must be wrapped and sealed in heavy duty plastic prior to delivery at the site. Please note that disposal fees apply at the Nannup Waste Management Facility as follows:
