BLACK DOG RIDE RETURNS TO NANNUP

Once again the Nannup Community will host the morning tea stop for the Busselton One Day Black Dog Ride on Sunday March 21st.

An estimated 300 riders are expected to roar into town and park up in Brockman Street before being hosted for morning tea prepared by the Nannup CWA at the town hall around 10.30am.

The Busselton ride, which is one of Australia’s largest, is conducted for the purpose of promoting mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Despite Covid restrictions it is expected that a large number of rides will take place across Australia on March 21st.

2021 will be the 10th year that the ride has been through Nannup and ride organisers have been delighted with the community response. Coordinator for 2021 John Lewin was glowing with his praise for Nannup. “This community does the event proud with the support we receive and the riders love coming here.”

Riders from the southern part of the State will be participating with this year’s event being made even more special with the Denmark ride joining with Busselton for conclusion and lunch at the Pemberton Community and Recreation centre.

Local St John’s Ambulance volunteer Jenny Forbes with again follow the ride to assist with any medical emergencies.
