Shire Response – Operations and Services

The Shire is striving to minimise service disruption during these times with the primary focus being the health and safety of our community and staff. We continue to monitor the advice received from the Department of Health and will make decisions based on this advice.

Shire Administration

In order to minimise the risk to staff the decision was made to close all public access to places of work, this includes the Works Depot and Administration Building until further notice.

Other than being closed to the public, the Shire is operating business as usual. To get in contact, please phone 08 9756 1018 or email nannup@nannup.wa.gov.au

Monthly Ordinary Meeting of Council

We are working towards having our Monthly Ordinary Meeting of Council online and livestreamed to the community through our website. This will enable us to keep progressing the many important initiatives in Nannup whilst maintaining the safety and health of the Community, Councilor’s and Staff. Please keep an eye out on the Shire’s website for these live streaming Council meetings.

Prohibited Burning Period Extended

The Shire of Nannup Prohibited Burning Period has been extended until further notice. This is a direction from the State Government Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) as a result of the current COVID-19 outbreak.

The Shire of Nannup will also be revoking all active permits and not issuing any new permits effective immediately.

The Shire of Nannup supports the State Government’s decision as it will reduce the risk of bushfire and reduce the unnecessary deployment of valuable resources such as Volunteer Brigades & Emergency Services Personnel.

Local Emergency Management

The Shire of Nannup is working closely with local stakeholders via the Local Emergency Management Committee to keep updated and informed as the current situation evolves.
