SHIRE OF NANNUP ACTIVITY UPDATE DURING COVID-19

During the COVID-19 restrictions the Shire of Nannup implemented restricted face-to-face contact in order to do their part in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

The Shire has been working very hard in the background to maintain business as usual and progress many major projects and initiatives, such as;

  • Capital Road Works program.
  • Nannup Cycle Master Plan.
  • Tank 7 and 8 Details Design.
  • Allocation of Drought Communities $1m funding.
  • Fire Mitigation Activities.
  • Refurbishment of Town Entry Statements.
  • Repairs to Cemetery Fence.
  • Progressing Visitor Servicing Arrangements for post COVID-19.
  • Multiple minor building works.

Further to this the Shire of Nannup has put in place a COVID-19 Community Relief Package which includes many aspects that provide much needed financial relief through a range of initiatives. A full list is available on the Shire of Nannup website.

The Shire of Nannup will re-open its administration building to face-to-face contact as of Monday 18th May 2020 in alignment with the State Government’s advice. It will be greatly appreciated that visitors please follow the social distancing and hygiene guidelines sign posted during their visit.

Restrictions remain in place on public facilities such as Town Halls, Sport Centres and Libraries as they are limited to 20 people or under and activities are non-contact with minimal shared equipment. Playgrounds are advised to continue to remain closed.

The Shire staff would like to thank the community for their understanding in limiting face-to-face contact during the COVID-19 period as this has enabled our workforce to remain strong and continue to best serve the Nannup community.

The Government strongly reminds the Western Australian community that we have not eradicated COVID-19 and we all need to remain vigilant and listen to Government Health Advice to keep moving in a positive direction. The Shire looks forward to working alongside our local businesses and communities as we head towards the recovery phases of COVID-19.
