What is happening in and around Nannup for November?

3 November commences the restricted burning period & a permit is required to burn off.

COMMUNITY NOTICES

The Shire of Nannup Citizen of the Year Awards opens 1 November 2019

26 January 2020, marks the 24th Citizen of the Year Award ceremony for the Shire of Nannup.

Do you know an individual, or a community group, who has contributed towards the enhancement of community life in Nannup?

This year’s Award category includes: Nannup Citizen of the Year (over 25 years of age), Nannup Youth Citizen of the Year (under 25 years of age), Nannup Senior Citizen of the Year (65+ years of age) & Nannup Community Group of the Year.

To nominate for the 2020 Citizen of the Year go to the Shire of Nannup website or Facebook page, download the form or click on the link below to complete the nomination electronically.  Paper copies can be collected at the administration office of the Shire of Nannup or the Nannup Community Resource Centre.

Nominations are open from 1 November 2019 and close on 8 December 2019.

Do you know how the NDIS can help your family or someone you know?

On Monday 25 November the Shire of Nannup is hosting a Wanslea NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention Information Session at the Nannup Playgroup building 1 Adams Street, Nannup.

Do you know the NDIS School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) offers individualised support to help you move from school to work.

The purpose of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is to support people with disability to achieve their goals, assist them to realise their full potential and exercise choice and control over their lives. Everyone has diverse skills, talents, knowledge and attributes, and it is important that you have the right support to achieve your work or career goals.

Professional development opportunities in Sport Coaching 

The South West Sports Development Federation (SWSDF) in partnership with the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) are offering scholarships of up to $1,000 for talented, enthusiastic and driven coach and officials in the South West region to complete professional development opportunities that will improve their education and knowledge. These opportunities could include accreditation courses, shadowing elite coach/officials and attending conferences.

Next Funding Round

Round 2 Opens 11 October 2019 and close 29 November 2019

Applicants must;

  • Be motivated to excel in their chosen field
  • Possess entry level coach or official accreditation
  • Intend to use knowledge to benefit their sport in the Peel or South West regions
  • Have contacted their State Sporting Association / Regional Sporting Association
  • Reside in the South West
