Blister Pack Recycling Success

In October 2023, the Nannup Pharmacy started a trial to recycle blister packs. The trial far exceeded expectations, with the Nannup Pharmacy reporting that the community has been extremely supportive and excited to be part of the recycle program.

The Shire of Nannup sponsored the initial trial boxes to help make Nannup more sustainable. After such a successful trial, another four boxes have been funded by the Shire of Nannup so the program can continue.

Pharmacycle is Australia’s first and only blister pack recycling program that provides a full recycling solution from start to finish.

Recycling results for the first two boxes returned to Pharmacycle from the Nannup Pharmacy indicate that 1.09kg of aluminium and 6.29kg of plastic has been recycled.

The Shire of Nannup thank the community for being so supportive of the program and congratulate the team at the Nannup Pharmacy for initiating and organising the program in Nannup.
