What is the Seven Gravel Race?
The Seven Gravel Race is a major gravel cycling event scheduled for Saturday, 16 May 2026. It will bring riders, support crews and spectators to Nannup from across Western Australia and interstate.
The May event will also act as a trial event to support planning for the UCI Gravel World Championships, scheduled to be held in Nannup in October 2026.
How many visitors are expected?
Up to 5,000 riders and spectators are expected over the event weekend. Visitor numbers will increase from Friday, 15 May 2026, when rider registrations open.
Where will the event be held?
The main event hub will be located in the Nannup town centre, with the race starting and finishing on Grange Road, adjacent to the Village Green.
What is “The Square”?
“The Square” is the temporary event space to be created in the new Grange Road car park for both events in May and October. It will include:
- Trade and expo stalls
- Food vendors and an outdoor bar
- Seating and designated spectator viewing areas
- A large screen broadcasting live SBS race coverage throughout the day
Using the same layout for both events helps provide consistency for residents, local businesses and repeat visitors.
Why is the event being held in the town centre?
Hosting the event in town provides several benefits:
- The bike route does not cross the main road, reducing traffic disruption
- Spectators are concentrated in the town centre, supporting local businesses
- Warren Road remains open for vehicles to travel through town as normal
Will there be road closures?
Yes. Temporary road closures will be required to ensure the safety of riders, spectators and residents.
Detailed information, including maps and closure times, will be distributed directly to affected residents and businesses and published on the event website.

These measures will support emergency services, event coordination and public access throughout the weekend.
What does the event mean for local businesses?

- Increase foot traffic in the main street
- Encourage visitors to engage with local shops, cafés and accommodation providers
- Create a vibrant, community‑focused atmosphere over the event weekend
