Plant Operators/General Hands

To support our vision, we are currently seeking recruitment of Plant Operators/General Hands in both permanent and casual capacity to join our Works and Services team.
- Permanent Full-Time (76 hours per fortnight with RDO) or Casual Positions
- Gross Salary: $66,160 per annum ($33.48 p/hour) dependent upon skills and experience
- Up to 17% superannuation
About the Role:
This role will offer essential skills and support in the maintenance and construction of civil infrastructure such as roads, drainage systems, footpaths, and other civil projects within the Shire of Nannup.
Responsibilities:
- Skilled operation of road rollers, wheel loaders, backhoes, excavators and compact track loaders, and other plant and equipment associated with civil construction.
- Construct, repair and maintain roads, drainage, footpaths, signs and other associated civil tasks.
- Undertake sealed road patching and repair, as well as vegetation control/clearing of road verges.
- Required to implement traffic management under the direction of the Leading Hand/ Works Supervisor, within approved Traffic Management Plans.
- Required to carry out routine maintenance on plant and equipment.
What we are looking for:
To be successful in in this role you will need:
- Proven experience in a similar position, ideally within Local Government.
- Competence in the operation of civil plant and equipment.
- Experience in the operation of petrol and electric power hand tools and equipment associated with road and drainage maintenance.
- Knowledge of rural road construction and maintenance procedures and practice.
- Experience in traffic management and basic plant maintenance.
