Alan Hancock – one-man show, music by John Rich

Past Event

Nannup 2323

A mix of story-telling, comedy, audience interaction, and music Nannup 2323 imagines the town 300 years hence. It’s on at Nannup Town Hall. Two performances only: 4 pm and 7 pm on Saturday 7 October. Full details and bookings at https://www.trybooking.com/CKBMG

Stand-up story-teller Alan Hancock provides the spoken voice – John Rich the live music. Visions, dreams, nightmares, whacky predictions, a word from the Crazed Clairvoyant, the Mad Optimist and the Terrible Realist, a visit from Mad Max, and the Grim Reaper. A quirky sense of humour runs through it all – a babble of voices that tell of life in the 280th year of the Ping Dynasty, in the time after the Great Flood, in the age of Green Utopia, when AI took over the galaxy - and all the Nannup folk lived happily ever after.

This year Alan has already performed Denmark 2323 and Freo 2323 at local festivals – and propelled by some wonderful audience feedback, he’s focussing the 2323 spotlight on his favourite WA town – Nannup. Expect some light-hearted satire that digs into local issues – expect to see this you-beaut place in a new light.

Comical, thought-provoking, and sometimes downright bonkers, Nannup 2323 is a 50-minute trip into the future. And yes, there are aliens. Nannup 2323 looks at what’s happening in this you-beaut place right now, and projects it all into an unimaginable future. Except Nannup 2323 dares to imagine.
