Recently, local Fire Control Officers (FCOs), Captains and volunteer firefighters gathered at the North Nannup Fire Shed for an Incident Controller exercise designed to strengthen emergency response skills and coordination.
The session provided a valuable opportunity to work through practical scenarios and deepen participants' understanding of how incidents are managed during a fire event. Discussions focused on coordinating firefighting operations, supporting volunteers, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring the community remains informed during emergencies.
Training exercises like these play an important role in building teamwork, improving preparedness, and ensuring everyone understands their responsibilities when responding to bushfires and other emergencies.
A big thank you to all who attended and contributed to the success of the evening, including DFES staff Donna Virgo and Craig Beswick. Your ongoing commitment to training and continuous improvement helps strengthen our emergency response capability and keeps our community safer.
Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who continue to give their time and expertise to protect the Nannup community.
