Restricted Burning Period & Firebreak Inspections Begin Tuesday 3 November πŸ”₯

Published on Tuesday, 13 October 2026 at 11:02:00 AM

From Tuesday 3 November, there are two important reminders for our community:
βœ… The Restricted Burning Period begins - a Burn Permit must be obtained and all permit conditions complied with before any burning takes place.
βœ… Firebreak Compliance Inspections commence - the Shire Ranger will begin inspecting properties to ensure they meet the requirements of the Bushfire Risk Compliance Notice.

Thank you to everyone who has already taken steps to prepare their property and help make our community safer ahead of the bushfire season.

Now is the time to:
βœ… Check your property complies with the Bushfire Risk Compliance Notice
βœ… Clear flammable material from around your Asset Protection Zone (APZ)
βœ… Review and update your bushfire plan
βœ… Complete preparations while the weather is still cooler
βœ… If conducting an approved burn, register it with DFES on 08 9395 9209 and comply with all instructions.

Bushfire safety is a shared responsibility. Together, we can help protect lives, property and our beautiful community.
