Council Adopts 2026/27 Budget

Council adopted its 2026/27 Annual Budget at the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 27 August 2026, delivering a significant investment in local infrastructure, community facilities and essential services while maintaining a strong focus on long-term financial sustainability.

Major Highlights of the 2026/27 Budget

Some of the key projects and operations funded through this year's budget include approximately:

βœ… $1.5 million in bridge upgrades, including a $1 million replacement of the Cundinup West Road Bridge.

βœ… $1 million in road improvements.

βœ… $1.4 million in road maintenance.

βœ… $800,000+ in Fire, Emergency, Public Safety and Animal Control.

βœ… $750,000 in Parks Gardens and recreation and sport

βœ… $570,000 in Waste Management operations

βœ… $500,000+ invested in economic development and tourism initiatives

βœ… $390,000+ invested in Health, Planning and Building services

βœ… $300,000+ for footpaths and Trail Town projects

βœ… $200,000 Recreation Centre sewerage infrastructure upgrade.

βœ… $208,000 in Waste Management Facility improvements.

βœ… $146,000 in Festival and Event support and Community Grants

βœ… $125,000 in Protection of the Environment

βœ… Investments in community assets including the Cundinup Bush Fire Brigade Station, Town Hall air-conditioning and heating upgrades, Foreshore Amphitheatre electrical improvements and new town entry statements.

Rate Notices:

Ratepayers are advised that 2026/27 Rate Notices will begin arriving in letterboxes from 9 September 2026.

Residents will have the option of paying their rates in full or by 4 instalments. The due date for full payment or the first instalment is 13 October 2026.
