The vision for the Nannup WA Geopark Hub has taken a major step forward, with confirmation of a $562,865 Lotterywest grant formally presented today by the Hon Jackie Jarvis MLC, Minister for Agriculture and Food; Fisheries; Forestry; Small Business.
The Lotterywest funding represents the final piece of funding required for construction of the Nannup WA Geopark Hub, a landmark project to be centrally located in Nannup. Lotterywest is the project’s major financial supporter, with additional contributions from Talison Lithium and the Shire of Nannup, alongside generous in‑kind support from local suppliers. Together, these contributions represent nearly $1 million of investment into the Shire of Nannup.
The Nannup WA Geopark Hub will feature a series of engaging, static outdoor displays, including three earth globes illustrating tectonic plate movements over time, a three‑dimensional geology model showcasing the area’s unique geological formation, and a timeline fence tracing key geological and development phases.
The hub will complement the Nannup WA Geopark website and mobile app, launched in October 2024, and further strengthen Nannup’s reputation as a destination for learning, tourism and community pride.
Project partners and supporters have expressed strong appreciation for the commitment shown by government, industry, and the local community in bringing this vision to life.
