Did you know there are now five Containers for Change collection bins located around Nannup, giving residents another simple way to support local community groups while helping reduce waste?
The Containers for Change bins have been placed alongside existing waste and recycling bins, making it easy for everyone to choose the right bin for their rubbish. When disposing of an item, remember to ask yourself:
- Is it general waste?
- Is it recycling?
- Is it a Containers for Change eligible container?
Containers for Change bins only accept eligible drink containers displaying the 10¢ refund mark. This includes many cans, bottles and drink cartons.
Please note: Coffee cups are not accepted through Containers for Change and should be placed in your general waste bin.
Supporting Local Community Groups
Would your community group like to raise funds through Containers for Change?
The Shire can assist community groups, clubs and organisations to establish and manage a dedicated Containers for Change collection bin. Bins can be provided for a one-off event, such as a community festival or sporting event, or as a permanent collection point within the town.

By participating in Containers for Change, your group can generate valuable fundraising income while helping to reduce waste and support a cleaner, more sustainable Nannup.
Several local community organisations are already collecting eligible containers to raise funds for their projects and activities.
Nannup Cemetery Committee
The Cemetery Committee has a dedicated Containers for Change collection bin located behind the public toilets at the rear of the Shire Offices.
Nannup Lions Club
Look out for Containers for Change collection baskets located at:
- Lions Park
- Foreshore Park
Want to Raise Funds for Yourself?
Did you know you can collect eligible Containers for Change bottles and cans and turn them into extra income?
Simply take your eligible containers to the Nannup Men's Shed, where they can be processed through the Containers for Change program each Wednesday.
