The Shire of Nannup is inviting local residents, businesses and community members to take part in a community co-design workshop exploring ideas to improve safety, walkability and the experience of Warren Road through the Nannup town centre.
WORKSHOP details:
π
Friday 4 September
π 4.30pm to 6.30pm
π Nannup Community Meeting Room, Nannup Recreation Centre
* If you can’t make the workshop please contact the Shire with your thoughts/ideas prior to the workshop, via email to: Nannup@nannup.wa.gov.au - Attention: Sustainability Officer
In 2025, the Shire began working with local community organisations and representatives to explore opportunities to improve safety and strengthen the character of Nannup's main street.
We're now building on that work through funding received from the Streets Alive program, delivered by Doing Co (formerly Town Team Movement) in partnership with Main Roads Western Australia and WALGA.
This funding has enabled the Shire to engage a street safety and design specialist to work with our community to further develop and refine ideas for Warren Road.
During this interactive workshop, participants will work in small groups to identify safety and place opportunities along Warren Road and explore practical solutions to make the town centre safer, easier to move around and a more welcoming place to spend time.
Your local knowledge and experience matter. Whether you live in Nannup, run a local business, regularly use the town centre, or simply have ideas about how Warren Road could work better, we encourage you to come along and have your say.
Questions to prompt ideas:
- What safety, accessibility or other issues do you currently experience or notice along Warren Road in the Nannup town centre?
Please tell us where the issue occurs if you can, and what makes it a problem.
- What changes or improvements would you like to see along Warren Road to make Nannup's town centre safer, more walkable and a more welcoming and enjoyable place to spend time?
Ideas can be as specific or general as you like.
- Is there a particular location along Warren Road that you think should be a priority? If so, please tell us where and why.
π¬ Bring your ideas and help co-design a vision for a safer, more walkable and welcoming heart of Nannup.
The Shire of Nannup acknowledges the support of the Streets Alive program and its partners, Doing Co, Main Roads Western Australia and WALGA, whose funding has made this community engagement and specialist support possible.
