There is plenty for locals to look forward to as the 2026 Nannup Flower and Garden Festival returns from 7–16 August, transforming our town into a vibrant celebration of gardens, creativity, learning and community. Now in its 29th year, the festival will feature more than 80 events across 10 days, attracting visitors from throughout Western Australia while showcasing the very best of Nannup.
The festival has become one of the South West's most loved winter events, with thousands of tulips bringing colour to the town and a diverse program designed for everyone—from passionate gardeners and sustainability enthusiasts to families, artists and curious beginners.
This year's program features an impressive line-up of gardening personalities, including Costa Georgiadis, Sophie Thomson, Millie Ross, Guy Jeffreys and Faye Arcaro, offering visitors the opportunity to hear from leading voices in gardening, sustainability and food production.
A highlight for many will be An Evening with Costa at Forest & Fire, giving festival-goers the chance to meet the much-loved Gardening Australia presenter in a relaxed and engaging dinner setting. Costa's infectious enthusiasm for gardening, community and the environment has made him a perennial festival favourite, and his return is sure to be a major drawcard.
Festival visitors can also explore two of the event's signature experiences: the Blue Wren Garden Trail and the Golden Wattle Arts Trail. These self-guided trails open the gates to private gardens, artist studios and creative spaces throughout the region, offering a unique glimpse into the beauty, ingenuity and talent that flourish across the Nannup district.
For those keen to learn something new, the program includes workshops covering gardening, propagation, permaculture, sustainable living, floral design, food growing and creative pursuits. Visitors can discover everything from building wicking beds and mini greenhouses to making sauerkraut, creating bouquets and exploring botanical art.
Families have not been forgotten, with the popular Busy Bee Marquee offering children's activities including herb garden creations, fairy gardens, face painting and giant bubbles, ensuring younger visitors can enjoy the festival just as much as adults.
When the sun goes down, the festival atmosphere continues with a range of evening events including a bush dance, plant bingo, quiz night, special film screenings and community gatherings that celebrate the welcoming spirit of Nannup.
Beyond the events themselves, the festival provides an important opportunity to support local businesses, accommodation providers, cafés, galleries and tourism operators. It also gives residents a chance to share the warmth and hospitality that make Nannup such a special place to live and visit, aligning strongly with the community's vision of celebrating our natural environment, creative culture and thriving local economy.
