Minijet WA Southern Screamer
The Shire of Nannup has approved an event permit for Mini Jet WA to conduct its annual Southern Screamer River race from 27 - 28 September 2025 down the mighty Blackwood River.
Mini Jet WA is a collective of adventurers and thrill seekers pushing the boundaries of jet boating across Western Australia. Originating in the 1950s with jet boating pioneer Bill Hamilton, the sport has evolved into a high-energy experience on both river and sea.
Race Schedule:
- Day 1: Brockman Bridge (Nannup) to Sue’s Bridge
- Boats enter the water at 8:00am
- Day 2: Sue’s Bridge to Molloy Island
Spectator Tips:
Viewing opportunities are limited due to the nature of the river, but the best vantage points include:
- Brockman Street Bridge, Nannup
- Sue’s Campground
- Molloy Hideaway

Event: Event - Vessels operating at high speed, Blackwood River
Mariners are hereby advised that racing power vessels will be operating at high speeds competing in the approved 2025 Southern Screamer event from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM on the following dates and locations: -
Blackwood River
• Saturday 27 September 2025 from Nannup to Sues Bridge
• Sunday 28 September 2025 from Sues Bridge to Molloy Island
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution when transiting these areas and remain well clear of the event vessels at all times.
