Upcoming Changes to the Shire of Nannup’s Audit and Risk Advisory Committee

The Shire of Nannup’s Audit and Risk Advisory Committee is a standing committee of Council established under the Local Government Act 1995. Recent legislative reforms under the Local Government Amendment Act 2024 and the Local Government Regulations Amendment Regulations (No. 4) 2025, effective from 1 January 2026, require audit committees to transition to Audit, Risk and Improvement Committees (ARICs). These changes strengthen transparency and accountability through the appointment of independent external presiding and deputy presiding members and an enhanced focus on risk management and continuous improvement.
